I particularly investigate the use of waste heat from data centers. This is not always easy, as data center waste heat is only luke-warm. Through matching heat demands to waste heat availability, I try to find ways to repurpose this heat energy, viewing it as a commodity rather than a waste product.

The photo above is from my time as a Visiting researcher in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Reclaiming waste heat from data centers is challenging enough in the Nordics - imagine doing it in the tropics! Still, it must be done, as data centers use up energy for several hundred million people. That is at the core of my work.
